If this post seems familiar, it’s because I have a similar one right here! That’s right: I’m participating in the Dewey’s 24-Hour Readathon again! Here’s the website if you’re interested: http://www.24hourreadathon.com
This post will be updated throughout the day on Saturday, April 23rd.
Fair warning: I’m terrible at scheduling my life around readathons and am actually going to be out of town, so I’m not planning on reading a huge amount. I have a stack of comics I’m going to be bringing with me as well as Passenger by Alexandra Bracken!
The readathon kicks off at 6AM in my timezone (MST). See you back here bright and early tomorrow!
6:00— Readathon start!
7:37— Wake up. Good morning! Happy readathon!
8:02— Finish The Mighty Thor #5 (24 pages). No thanks to this brat:
8:20— Finish Patsy Walker, AKA Hellcat! #3 (25 pages).
8:43— Finish Patsy Walker, AKA Hellcat! #4 (26 pages). Sheila is a huge fan:
9:27— Finish Welcome Back #4 (27 pages). I was getting tired of all the Marvel comics so I switched to something different.
3:00— true to form, I haven’t read a damn thing in hours. Oops.
10:00— finally home for some reading. I’m trying to knock out a stack of comics before time is up!
10:10— Finish Welcome Back #5 (27 pages).
10:27— Finish Welcome Back #6 (28 pages).
10:53— Finish Ms. Marvel #4 (23 pages).
11:07— Finish Ms. Marvel #5 (23 pages). Getting very sleepy after a long day but determined to get through just a few more.
11:27— Finish Black Panther #1 (31 pages).
So after finishing Black Panther (which was fantastic, by the way), I immediately fell asleep. However, though I only read 234 pages of comic book goodness, I knocked out more than half of my emergency-must-read comic book stack (emergency because I had purchased too many comics and read too few in the past 3 months and I wanted to stop panicking about wasting my money). I count this readathon as a mild success! I knew I wouldn’t be free on the day of the readathon, but I read 234 more pages than I otherwise would have.
Let’s try again in October. 🙂
